Restore decay yet keep your beautiful, white smile

You may need a filling if you have a cavity or tooth decay. This is a hole in your tooth that has grown bigger and deeper over time. Fillings are restorative material used to artificially return the function and integrity to a tooth after decay.

White Fillings (or Tooth Coloured Fillings) enable you to maintain your beautiful white smile even if you require treatment. These fillings are commonly used in front teeth and in many but not all situations on back teeth.

Many people have amalgam (silver) fillings that have progressively blackened over time and caused staining of the teeth. Although amalgam is a functional material it does have several disadvantages. The most obvious problem is its appearance. Some patients are also concerned about the health aspect of dental amalgam and choose to have their older amalgam fillings replaced.

As they are virtually invisible, White Fillings look just like your natural teeth so they will not distract away from your smile.

Most White Fillings are made from Composite Resin that can be placed in a single visit. Composite Resin Fillings are bonded to the tooth surface, meaning the joints are sealed preventing further decay of the surrounding tooth structure. Sometimes larger white fillings are done in two stages, with an “Inlay” or “Overlay” made in the laboratory from either a dense composite resin or porcelain, being cemented at the second appointment.
